DNEVNIK MAŠINOVOĐE TRAIN DRIVER'S DIARY
Sima has had enough of the mean children’s psychologist and the despondent children’s home warden, who keeps presenting him to dreadful potential parents. Train driver Ilija has had enough too. The last of three generations of locomotive engineers, he has brought the family body count to 66 fatalities. The thoroughly bizarre encounter between the two has consequences, as Sima is reluctant to walk in the occupational footsteps of his adopted father. Shot in a colourful retro look, a parable sprinkled with metaphors unfolds, examining post-war Serbia – where men are still men, never cry and still don’t need to see a therapist after witnessing dozens of causalities on the job. Or maybe not? A raven-black comedy that truly earns the designation!
