DOROGA THE ROAD MOVIE

According to a quote attributed to Nikolai Gogol, there are two evils in Russia: streets and idiots. THE ROAD MOVIE treats precisely these two fundamental ills. The dashboard camera, increasingly popular in our climes as well, has been one of the basic features of every automobile in Russia for many years now – the humble device is called on to collect and provide potential objective evidence in case of accident or theft. Director Dmitry Kalashnikov has employed material taken from these cameras as found footage, in what emerges as an exciting albeit depressing documentary film about life on the road in Russia.
