During the bombardment of Kharkiv, a granddaughter imagines a conversation with a younger version of her grandmother in Soviet Central Asia of the 1960s. Amid talk of parachute jumps and midwife training, a dialog about deportation and war unfolds, in which the granddaughter searches for her identity and tries to break the cycle of transgenerational trauma.
