We witness the execution by firing squad of Marshal Ion Antonescu and three additional Nazi collaborators, presented as a montage in the tradition of Sergei Eisenstein. The harsh original footage, shot by budding cinematographer Ovidiu Gologanl, and the melodramatic screen adaptation of the same scene from Sergiu Nicolaescu's film THE MIRROR (1994) could not be more diametrically opposed.
