A MOTHER OF THE KINGDOM OF SHADOWS

According to Victoria Coroban from the OWH Studio press office, the film portraits the relationship between imprisoned the mothers and their children. “The law says we are offenders. But nobody took our right to be a mother and the maternal feelings are alive as ever. Some of us haven’t lost our minds or committed suicide only for the children’s sake”, says Angela, mother of 3, who is in the Rusca prison for women, and who offered her diary for this film script. The documentary had been shot during 2006 in the Women’s Penitentiary Nr. 7 in Rusca, and was directed by Violeta Gorgos. The photography was signed by Marin Iliut, with the film’s idea belonging to him, and by Vlad Druc.
