ADORAMA

Open Frame Award

Cameras gazing at each other, focussing and fixating on one another, seemingly registering the spectacle of each other's hi-tech performance: ADORAMA is based on image and sound recordings the artist made in an electronics store on the test models displayed there. The video creates a circuit of commodities communicating with each other, competing in an arena all their own. Mirrored on the displays of two teleprompters, it both includes and excludes its human audience, no longer addressing them as speakers, but as mere spectators instead.
