FEELINGS

Symposium

Fog in Lithuania’s borderlands: love, home, escape, resistance. Like no other Baltic (post-) war drama, this story of two dissimilar brothers attempts to trace the hybrid nature of political identities. The Russians are no socialists here, the Germans no Nazis. Everything is confusing – handsome Kasparas is in search of clarity, this independent and freedom loving young widower who rows his twins (along with a surrogate nurse cow) across the water to safety, to the Russian side, where his own twin brother Andrius lives, with his wife Agnė, who once belonged to Kasparas. FEELINGS is Bergmann times Antonioni plus Tarkovsky, in Soviet Lithuanian. Phenomenal.
