Australian performance artist Kym Vercoe's search for romantic historical locations in Bosnia leads hers to Višegrad, where she finds herself unsuspectingly surrounded by an ignorant post-war society full of perpetrators, where former rape camps serve as hotels and the violence of recent history palpably permeates each pore of everyday existence. Jasmila Žbanić reckons with the narrative cemented in the well-known book "The Bridge on the Drina" by Nobel literary laureate Ivo Andrić and creates a visible memorial to those women who were subjected to systematic sexual violence during the Bosnian War.
