HERE WE MOVE, HERE WE GROOVE

Since the glorious '90s, DJ Robert Šoko has been mixing music from the Balkans with beats and Western influences in original songs that sparkle with the vision of a multicultural Europe. This film accompanies Šoko, a former refugee from Yugoslavia, on a trip back to his roots from Berlin, where today refugees from Syria and Afghanistan attempt to live the dream he once pursued. On the road, the ever-curious DJ collects new musical impulses to weave into his signature Balkan Beats. With HERE WE MOVE, HERE WE GROOVE, a sort of party substitute in this period of transition, goEast intends to carve out some space in the programme for music, and its capacity to foster a sense of community.
