INFINITAS

Homage

In 1983 Khutsiev composed a cinematic “epilogue” to his life and times with POSLESLOVIE. In 1991 he took it one step further: INFINITAS is the ultimate farewell work, a transcendental rite of passage into another universe and yet still an earthly survey of human life in its entirety. After a sublimely random emptying of his apartment, a certain Prochorov moves back home to the Russian countryside, free of any baggage, shadowed only by his twenty-year-younger virtual alter ego. Arguably the most sceptical and yet most positive journey to freedom in cinema. A profound glimpse of the wondrous gift of being permitted to spend a few precious years on Planet Earth.
