Left entirely to her own devices, 10-year-old Jarka fights her way through her everyday life. Her mother takes no interest in her and her grandmother is ill. Her desire for family and a sense of safety and belonging causes Jarka to take in two abandoned babies. Along with her boyfriend Kristian she creates a new world, one where love, family and friendship can seemingly keep every evil at bay. Alas, it proves impossible to shut out the adult world forever. Based on the novel THE FIFTH BOAT by Monika Kompaníková.
