Trendy flamboyant outfits, bustling energy: Mirtemir looks like a teenager from Kreuzberg or Williamsburg – but belongs to the disadvantaged Karakalpak minority in Uzbekistan. He has to take care of his blind grandmother, work at a fast-food café during the day and an improvised karaoke at night. But he doesn’t lose hope, he is full of vitality and stamina — withstanding the hardships and looking for a bright future to come.
