Tibor, an unsociable pathologist, finds his corpses provide him with company enough. But among the living there’s one person he would like to help: his cancer-afflicted mother. Sadly, he doesn’t have the cash for the operation she needs. Then an one-eyed man proposes a deal: Tibor’s part is to murder a stranger. Two days after executing the deed, the pathologist receives a letter from his victim disclosing that they are (or were) half-brothers. As the murderer turns into a sleuth, a conspiracy unfolds. Awarded the FIPRESCI Prize at Warsaw Film Festival, the thriller plays an enigmatic game, deftly juggling familiar motifs and their expected contexts. Atmospheric and darkly humorous, with bizarre excursions into the mind of an anti-hero.
