A totalitarian regime rules Poland in the year 2030. Adam relocates to the more affluent part of Warsaw, where he finds accommodation in a veritable hovel and begins to work as a maintenance man in a modern company. There he encounters the high-ranking employee Goria and promptly falls in love. An affair seems to be in the offing. At home, his only entertainment is an ancient radio. When Adam realises he can use it to travel in time, he begins to suspect that he may be living more lives than the one so familiar to him in 2030.
