Jurij Kalin belongs to the Northern Selkup people, who are no longer able to lead their nomadic lifestyle to the fullest extent. His family is one of the few who have not settled – although the days when they boasted their own reindeer herd are long past. They live from what the forests and rivers will give them, while many others move to the city, leaving the old world behind. A requiem for a tundra culture that continues to succumb to Russian colonisation.
