Around 50 years after Konchalovsky’s film THE FIRST TEACHER, the filmmaker shows the "last teacher": an old, Russian-speaking instructor is replaced by a younger one, who speaks Turkish. Through this symbolic changing of the guard, the film depicts a region in transition.
