Fairytale adaptation based on Wilhelm Hauff’s “Little Muck”. The midget Mukrah lives in an oriental city, and one day answers children’s taunts by telling them his story: how he was thrown out after his father’s death, then set out in search of the merchant who sells good fortune. By a roundabout route he came into possession of magic slippers and a wand that detected buried treasures. Muck believed he had found his fortune, and accepted a position in the court of the Sultan. But Muck’s career roused the jealousy of the courtiers… The DEFAmade film gained popularity worldwide thanks to its imaginative scenery, its wonderful colours and effects combined with outstanding acting performances.
