The small village Pitwaros lies somewhere deep in the Hungarian backwaters. One of the little distractions for the villagers is the weekly visit of a dancing teacher who comes to town in his lemon-yellow car to teach the people the foxtrot, the waltz, and the disco-swing. His classes for every age are always well attended – they bring a bit of life to the sleepy community. The film accompanies four of his students during their progress, also observing them outside of the dance hall during their everyday tasks. They are the good-natured teacher Katalin and the young postman Csaba, whose mobile phone rings endlessly even during dance lessons – much to the disciplined teacher’s displeasure. There is the sales assistant Ildiko, who sometimes borrows a pair of elegant shoes from the stock of her general store before going to the dance lesson. And then there is the gardener András, who takes care of his pregnant wife and additionally tries to get his little son to make music. The highpoint for the students is the final ball. Under the eyes of the whole village community they have to prove what they have learned during the previous weeks.
