Things are happening in a small Polish town: a Chinese fi lm crew has arrived and is looking for extras. During the auditions, the Chinese are only interested in sad faces. The director wants to fi lm his unhappy love triangle with Chinese leads in Poland because he has heard that Poles are the most unhappy people in Europe. But the Poles bring their own personalities to the set and at some point they are not prepared to stay in the background looking bitter and lonely anymore. They decide not to take orders from the strangers any longer and insist on a happy ending. If it wasn’t clear before, it is now: these people are more than just extras
