HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOLA

Competition

Beautiful Lola is looking forward to her imminent birthday. Because her boyfriend has announced a special surprise, she doesn’t wonder when all of a sudden two strangers in elegant clothes knock on her door, holding a bunch of roses and a cake. She thinks the two charming men who introduce themselves as “Bim” and “Bom” are part of the surprise. Lola lets the men in and has a cup of tea with them. A little later there is another ring at the door. This time two postmen carry a huge package into Lola’s living room. She still believes this is part of her boyfriend’s birthday surprise. But she can hardly believe her eyes when “Bim” and “Bom” unwrap the “present”: a machine gun big enough to shoot a plane from the sky. “Bim” and “Bom” are professional killers who need this flat as base for an assassination. Lola’s hope this kafkaesk nightmare will soon be over ends abruptly when the men are told that the murderous action has been postponed for a day. So the scared woman has to spend a whole night with the killers. While “Bom“ turns out to be a psychopath, “Bim” seems to have more than a professional interest in Lola.
