KATARINA FROM SLOVENIA

Specials

Katarina Flajsman lives with her family in Ljubljana. In May 2004 she turned 17 – the same month, Slovenia joined the European Union. Since its independence in 1991, the former socialist country has quickly adjusted to western standards. Katarina grew up in these times of change. Compared to her liberal parents, the high school student has developed rather conservative notions – at least in her father’s opinion. Maja Weiss talked to Katarina about her attitude towards life, her wishes for the future and her relationship to her parents’ generation – creating a portrait of the adolescent generation of women in her country.
