Shortly before Russia began its bloody invasion, several Ukrainian video artists travelled to Mariupol. Their experimental work, which is not afraid to employ radical approaches and unsubtle stylistic choices, not only captures the last glimpses of a multicultural, vibrant port city, before it was reduced to rubble – it also records hopes, longing and dreams sadly destined to remain unfulfilled.
