The arrival of the mysterious Sebestyén is the chance a group of children have been waiting for: they want to test borders, to find out just how far “they would go” and what they’re capable of doing in the safety of the group. The clergyman Gábor soon finds that his power to deal with these brutal cravings is even more limited than he feared. A tale of adults’ deep longing for their children to be innocent, and a philosophical consideration of the boundaries necessary in life. It concludes a trilogy in which Sopsits examines within a fifty-year period the childhood and adolescence of his protagonists.
