DEALER

Portrait

A day in the life of a drug dealer is described with black humour. On his white bicycle the dealer travels through various social milieus on his way from one customer to the next. He is always professional and alert, yet relaxed at the same time. Clients receiving deliveries include the leader of a sect, a friend who had an accident, a former girlfriend, students, and various other addicts. One junkie tells him he’s the father of her child. He then visits his own father, who never got over his wife’s death in an accident. The dealer himself has not taken any drugs for the past two years, and keeps the misery around him at a safe distance. But with every scene the vacuum engulfing his own life becomes more palpable.
