The talent programs have been particularly important to goEast since the very beginning. During the 21st goEast Film Festival thirty filmmakers/producers from Central and Eastern Europe will once again have the opportunity to develop their projects and network. Workshops and trainings offer insights into topics like filming on location, film financing as well as distribution and marketing strategies. Every year a master class is held, in which renowned filmmakers share their experience and are available for questions. In the past the master classes were held, among others, by Sergei Loznitsa, Agnieszka Holland, Ildikó Enyedi or Václav Marhoul.

Young filmmakers working on a project and producers (application without a project is possible) are accompanied individually during the goEast festival week and continue to work on their projects. During the public pitch a three-person expert jury will decide in about the winners of the EWTL awards: the goEast Development Award is endowed with 3,500 euros. Documentary film projects with a focus on human rights can also hope for the research grant which comes with a cash prize of 3,500 euros as well.
