Preview premiere before theatrical release!
After the furious photo-film essay THE DEAD NATION (goEast 2018) on Romania's very early participation in the Nazi crimes in Eastern Europe, Radu Jude continues his work on the 'forgotten Holocaust' as a farce in the theater milieu.
His feature film experiment around a multi-layered historical re-enactment takes a radical view of today: research encounters resentment, archival material on denial and a highly ambitious young director on men in positions of power. The laity obviously still prefer to play Nazis rather than Bolsheviks in the stage production.
Radu Jude created a masterpiece, a highly intelligent, captivating and deeply moving movie that could not be more relevent. We are very happy to be able to present this film as a preview premiere three weeks before the German opening date.
